Alrewas (1st mooring)

7th-9th September 2019 – Alrewas

A lit up garden in Alreqas right where we had moored.

After a really lovely time at the Branston water park we headed along the canal a bit further to a little place called Alrewas. It is an absolutely beautiful little village with some great pubs and a good co-op shop. We are going to stay here for the 48 hours the mooring allows, then turn around and moore in a place called, er, Alrewas! Yup, darstedly or what! We are going to fill with water and then moore for another 48 hours, as is permitted by the other mooring! I know its probably naughty but the season is pretty much over. Then we will be going from the here into the marina for me to go and get the car – so it seems to be working out.

We saw this on the side of a building right on the canal side – could not have put it better myself!

We found an iIndian restaurant by the lock (we followed our noses) and they do a special deal on Tuesdays, where you get a meal at almost half price! So guess where we’re eating on Tuesday! Its a shame thought, we’ve moved the boat to the other end of Alrewas so now it’s a fair old walk!
