22nd July 2020 – Autherley Junction – the end of Shroppy

After another short cruise from Brewood we arrived in Autherley Junction and moored just before Bridge 2, which is the nearest on to the Morrisons, and we need some supplies.

Here is what we’ve done so far. Tomorrow we will be on the Staffy and making our way up to Great Haywood, where we then turn up the Trent and Mersey back to Aston Marina to fetch the car and go and help Damara move flat on the 6th August. This circuit is know as the Four Counties ring – and I can hightly recommend it. One thing though, the locks on the Shroppy have fierce wiers at their bottom, so I would recommend going up the Shroppy and not down it like we did – the locks will be much easier to get into that way.
So, tomorrow we sail up the Staffy – let’s see how that compares!
