12th-29th September 2019 – Barton turn Marina
From Alrewas it is a very short trip to Barton turn Marina. We entered via the slipway, under the bridge and as we did so a huge gust of wind hit us, blowing my hat off. I had to reverse back into the entrance slipway and try and fetch it – but the draught from the reversing pushed it past me – luckily Wendy was already on the hooked pole and she managed to grab it. Then the wind persisted all the way to the mooring. The boat basically was sailing sideways! I just managed to hook the nose onto the mooring jetty and one of the resident boaters grabbed our line and pulled us in – quite an entrance!
