3rd-4th March 2020 – Branston to Alrewas
The river section was closed on the 3rd February but the river had dropped below the flood level so we thought there would be a good chance of getting through. We decided to stay the night in Branston and go to the pub in the villiage – called the blacksmiths arms. Its a really nice place with sensible prices and some decent food. Just before we waked down to the pub, I got an email notification that Alrewas is open! Awesome!
We were very lucky with the weather, it was cold and grey but the rain held off. We sailed into Alrewas and moored up for the night without incident. In fact, the river section was quite calm and not as bad as the last time we went through it.
