12th July 2019- Braunston Tunnel
Change of plan, again! Originally, when Ron and Lyn were going to join us we were gonig to meet them at Braunston Marina. We thought we’d get there a couple of days early (on the Friday) so we could do all the usual (water, pump out, recharge etc). Then we’d set sail and return on the Thursday. Now they are not coming we thought we’d still go to the marina and stay a few nights anyway.
We sailed into the marina and moored on the service area as we wanted to refuel and pump out before mooring. Well, to cut a long story short, the services were not great and then the marina lost its water supply! I could not fill with diesel as the hose was too short (what!!!) – so all in all not great. I decided (somewhat huffily) that we would go elsewhere for water and Diesel. To do this we would have to sail up to the locks – so I guess that was the end of Braunston. In the end we decided we’d do the locks and see where we ended up.
Unfortunately the dog still has a very upset belly and, if anything it is getting worse.
