15th July 2019 – Evesham Lock Still!

We are pretty familiar with Evesham as we have been stuck here for quite some time now. The river is definitely on the way down and we should hopefully be able to sail soon. But first we have a engine rattle and a broken inverter to sort out!
Dave turned up around 10:00 today and we discovered a faulty master switch (which has melted) caused the inverter to fail. It also seems that our batteries are not charged up enough to run the washing machine and that is what the inverter is moaning about. So Dave did some rewiring and now we’re good to go – phew!
He also found that our engine was out of alignment and the coupling between the gearbox and propeller shaft was causing the wobble – so much so it sheared 2 bolts! Lucy we did not try and get to the marina in the strong river currents otherwise the last remaining tight bolt may have given up and then we’d be stuck in a powerfully flowing river with no means of propultion!
Still, all sorted now – so off to the laundret to get all our washing done. So, the photo’s today are rubbish as we have not really been anyware photoworthy!
