10th August 2019 – Foxton

We decided that 3 days at Market Harborough was enough. Mind you at just £12.50 per night which includes water and hookup it is very reasonable. The weather is a bit of a factor as it is predicted to become very stormy with high winds (58 mph). So we want to go somewhere and then moor up (and tie the ropes really, really tight) and hunker down to let the storm blow itself out. The pontoons at Market Harbourough are really short and in strong winds I could see them damaging my boat.
So our initial plan was to get back onto the Grand Union and head up to a place called Fleckney which is just after a short tunnel, however the weather was looking dodgy so we decided instead to moor at Foxton itself, which is about half a mile from the locks.
