5th August 2019 – Foxton Locks on my Birthday!
After a pleasant enough night on the Wharf and then a pumpout the next day (my first birthday present) we decided to sail up to Foxton Locks but not go through them until the next day. Foxton really is the next place where we can find a pub for a birthday meal. I know what your thinking, we are a bit obsessed with Pubs. Hmm, well I am not sure I can argue with that to be honest – they do seem to encroach upon canal life. Still it was my birthday and Dee, Connor, Lucette and Dad has all given me money – so beer and a meal is the order of the day!
The sail up to Foxton was simply breathtaking – seriously I thought Welford and the Leicester branch were pretty darn awesome, but this part of the canal is just amazing. I have never sailed through such beautiful picture postcard scenery in my life! The photo’s do not do it justice! Apart from that, Wendy seemed to be on the phone most of the time so I could not take many pictures!!!
