23rd – 26th August 2019 – Loughborough

After lazing around in Barrow-upon-soar for a few days we sailed back into Loughborough again but this time we were going to stay for a while. We are now starting to get organised for our trip back to Swindon for Wendy’s health check and to see Damara, Connor and Lucette. We need somewhere to put the boat safely between the 13th and 23rd of September. At this time we think that is likely to be in Nottingham, as we plan to sail into the town and have a look around. The issue is, we have a lot of time on our hands and so we may sail down the Trent and Mersey canal first for a bit then return to Nottingham.
Loughborough is awesome – it’s a huge town and has loads of really good mooring and shops, pubs and everything you can possibly want!

Very good mooring, for a big town.
Comfortable to say the least
Loughborough Park is spectacular

Big Ben was made here and this is a cast like the one used.
What do you mean gay??
Remember lads, size doesn’t matter
Lots of weeds, but put to use by the Moorhens
The market is different each day
Mooring at the Basic – a bit tight!
Retail therapy
We are staying here for a few nights, as its so easy and comfortable, and the pub is great and there is an Aldi for cheap shopping – we are going to miss this place for sure!
