After getting to Pershore we did our shopping in Asda and settled down for the night. And what a dirty, rainy, gusty night it turned out to be. Mind you we both slept through it without any issues. We had been told to try and make the journey to Stratford-Upon-Avon quickly as all this rain would make the river swell and could make it impossible to sail on (I am not keen on rivers) for a few days – leaving us potentially stuck in the middle of nowhere far from any town or worse, pub!
We saw a few boats go past so decided to go for it! I am glad we did, as we met up with another couple who left at the same time as us and we partnered with them through the 3 locks between us and Evesham. Having someone who knows what they are doing and who have been sailing for years alongside you really does make the journey much easier. It’s lucky they were behind us as my hat blew off my head in a gust and they managed to fish it out of the river and get it back to me!

So we arrived at Evesham after about 5 hours saling and moored up alongside the Workmans gardens – which are really lovely. There is water and rubbish facilities here so we decided to remain here for a day and visit the town – which is a lovely place with loads of awesome pubs!
