Short Jaunt: Weston upon Trent

11 August 2020 – Weston Upon Trent

Some friends we met near the mooring at Weston upon Trent

To kill a bit of time, we decided to do a short jaunt down the Trent and Mersey canal. We really liked Tixal wide and Great Haywood, so we decided to just pop back down there for a few days and take it as it came. The weather is supposed to be pants over the next week or so, so why not! Anyway, a bit of rain and thunderstorms should be fun. Mind you, today it has been lovely – hot and sunny and generally great!

The sail down was very pretty, this part of the T&M is very rural and picturesque. There are also only 3 locks between the marina and Tixal Wide so it’s an easy trip. This is handy as Wendy decided to launch herself off the rear step and crashed into the kitchen – she has really banged herself and her back is letting her know it is really not impressed with her. So doing locks is not a great idea at the moment. You may be wondering if there is a bit of a trend here, the last time we were facing locks she managed to dislocate her fingers, hmm. šŸ¤”ļø
