20th July 2020 – Wheaton Aston

From Norbury we sailed to Gnosall with the intent to moor the night, but as sometimes happens, when we arrived we decided the next port of call would be better. In essence it came down to having to wak too far for the shop in Gnosall (pronounced ‘Knows all’) and accorning to google, Wheaton Aston has a slightly shorter walk.

Wheaton Aston also holds the honour (for us at least) of being the final lock on the Shropshire Union canal before we go through the stop lock onto the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal – from now on known as the Staffy because I am not typing all that stuff each time!!

We filled up with water at Gnosall
Gnosall is a pretty place
